We will be celebrating our wedding 1-2 hours north of San Francisco, near Tomales Bay. If you’re coming from out of town, we recommend flying into SFO or OAK. From there, we recommend either renting a car or taking the airport shuttle to Petaluma, CA.

travel

  • To Petaluma: Take 101 North across the Golden Gate Bridge for ~35 miles until you reach Petaluma. Take any Petaluma exit to access the city.

To Tomales/Dillon Beach (fastest): Take 101 North across the Golden Gate Bridge for ~35 miles until you reach Petaluma. Take the Bodega Bay exit onto Valley Ford Road. Continue onto Tomales Petaluma Road until you reach Tomales. To continue to Dillon Beach, turn west onto Dillon Beach Road in Tomales and continue for approximately 5 miles until you reach Dillon Beach.

To Tomales/Dillon Beach (scenic): Take 101 North across the Golden Gate Bridge. Then follow signs for Highway 1 North along the coast through Stinson Beach, Point Reyes Station, and Tomales. To continue to Dillon Beach, turn west onto Dillon Beach Road in Tomales and continue for approximately 5 miles until you reach Dillon Beach.

  • There are shuttles running from SFO and OAK to Petaluma, where Uber/Lyft are widely available to take you to your hotel. You should purchase your tickets ahead of time at this link. Select “San Francisco/Oakland Airports” and set “Petaluma Fairgrounds Terminal” as your destination.

Discounts are available when purchasing round-trip or multi-passenger tickets.

LODGING

There are many beautiful places to stay in the area. Because roads are windy and dark at night, we will provide wedding day shuttle service from Petaluma, Dillon Beach, and Tomales. We suggest that you steer your lodging to these areas and plan to take the shuttle.

Petaluma is accessible by commercial shuttle from SFO or OAK, with Lyft/Uber availability in the city and a wide range of lodging options. This is a great place to stay if you would like to avoid renting a car or are seeking a more budget-friendly trip.

Dillon Beach and Tomales lodgings are more scenic options accessible only by car, with no Lyft/Uber availability in the area. If you want to head in this direction, we recommend staying at Dillon Beach Resort or the Tomales Hotel for a quintessential Northern California experience. Camping is also available at Lawson’s Landing campground (reservations for our wedding weekend open on December 15th).

While other Airbnbs and hotels are available along the bay, wedding day parking at Straus Home Ranch is limited and by permission only. If you decide to book outside of Petaluma, Dillon Beach, or Tomales, please make sure to have a DD and contact us directly at lillyandalex2026@gmail.com before booking your trip to confirm parking availability.
